£1,000 = $1900 for a major artists' video....
come on, they can easily afford to cough up more.

definitely trying to get something done on the cheap. come-on shadow!!!
i noticed this on his site the other day cos my bro had sent me a link to the "remix shadow" competition where you can remix one of the songs of the album too.
imagine my excitement being a big shadow fan - entroducing inspiring me to get into making similar kind of sample-based music - and gettign the chance to possibly have a remix of his published!!
Then i see you gotta use a pissy program that doesnt really let you do ANYTHING with the track other than rearrange it.
how does he expect something "different" or any sort of remix with this.its just going to be a "reshuffle"

can you share that link kon?
what application they want you to use..

Meeklo
it was on his site

wants you to use U-MYX
i was expecting to see all the sample files available to download to do something really special with.
i might just download whats there though and vreat soemthing in cubase though then send it in with other stuff added haha.
i persume though that you submit just a small UMYX file to them though thatl contani all your remix info :(

i wasnt even that impressed with The Private Press.
yet my favourite album of all time is Endtroducing.

Not that I like the sound of this 'Hyphe' genre that Shadow is showcasing on his new album, but don't hate the guy because he's trying t do something different. One reason Endtroducing was so amazing was that it had never been done before. He could hardly put out another sample based album and better Endtroducing especially as he hated making The Private Press so much.

i hear what you are saying concrete, endtroducing was like nothing done before.
im not slating him for not continueing in that same style, i'm just saying that nothing ive heard him do since Endtroducing has stood out as SUCH originality and genius.
i do like some of the Private Press and im looking forward to hearing what this new one is like as its had very mixes reviews.

i think the new album sucks. and he was doing something different before, and it was good. no amount of artistic freedom is going to make the music on the new album sound any better to me.
on the flip side, he's pretty lax with people using his music in their works, etc... so don't get blown up on the whole spec issue.

(Sep 27 06, 08:49)and people tend to forget all the other "standard" hip-hop he's produced over the years as singles... he's never just done the "endtroducing" style of production.

no need to diss him cos he's stopped being trendy 10 years ago. his new shit sounds lovely.
