Are these the same fonts that were on that unknown site a few years back where it seemed like a joke and they wanted like $1200 per typeface?

Yes, these are the same fonts, improved a bit since the original release by Orange Italic. Christian Schwartz is responsible for many House fonts, including Simian and Chalet.
