industrial color palette

working on a new branding package for a Sheet Metal company. They are insisting on using Bright Red and Grey... which looks like crap. What are some other good suggested color palettes for that industry? "Industrial"

tweak their bright red to a deep orange-red, and the grey to a warmer dark charcoal grey.
they probably won't even consider it a change from their vision.
