I working on a illustration and I plan to add an illustration of a famous person, is there any copyright infringement on doing this?
Cheers.

i can only assume so, unless it's a famous person that died 50+ years ago.

using the face of shakespear is probably ok. using the face of beckham will most likely get you sued.

roughitup i THOUGHT I TOLD YOU!
we have a restraining order remember?
NO MORE NUDE ILLUSTRATIONS OF ME or i'm calling the cops!
(i keep trying to tell the guy i'm not famous but he keeps saying 'any man with a package like that should be famous') its crazy.
- Jaline0
How did it go explaining that to the wife, k0na?
- k0na_an0k0
i told her that a package like this needs to be shown to the world, but not a million times by one guy illustrating it in detail.
she agreed.
then we made out.

I think it's okay?
What about editorial cartoons etc.

Hmm, I don't know if you must follow the laws of the country of the famous person, the laws of your country, or the laws of the country of the people that will see your illustration.

ain't going to get you sued. call it art

you'd have to either make boatloads of money or do something really outrageous to their character for anyone even to notice.

hehe funny.

as long as you are using it in some editorial fashion and not as endorsement or promotional/sales then you should be fine.
- ETM0
As long is it is non-commercial, personal usage. The minute you sell a print or a T-Shirt etc. or make a dime in anyway, then it's a different story.

ask andy warhol about it
- Witt0
not if you depict him/her with just one eye.
