ok. this may be a dumb question(s). i want to buy an open type version of serifa in a roman/standard/55 weight. i'm looking at versions from adobe, bitstream, and urw. is any one of these foundries better than the others? which foundry's version would you buy? thanks for your help.

i'm hoping Typographica or another font guru could help me out. i'd appreciate it.

anybody?

i've got the serifa adobe OTF and bitstream PS versions..
some of the adobe characters appear to be a hair wider. looks cleaner imho.
but the bitstream family seems to have a couple more styles available.. ?

thanks, horton.
is there a specific reason why you have both?

You're best off with the Bitstream OT version. BT's early collection was digitized under the direction of Matthew Carter. It doesn't get any better than that.

Forgot to add that the OT advantage means fewer files to worry about and a file that works on Mac and Windows.
