Saw Shadow Last Night...

So me and my girl went and saw DJ Shadow last night here in Seattle at the Showbox.
After hearing his new album, neither of us were sure what to expect. The first 6 tracks off his CD are totally hip-pop MTV type stuff.
However... Shadow freakin' owned the building. He covered all of his albums evenly and threw in a dash of his new tracks. He had Lateef with him and Lateef is really good on the mic. Chris James sang the couple of songs he does with Shadow off the new album.
The visuals were just like his In Tune & On Time tour (or DVD). It's a platform that enhances his music very well. All in all, there were no low points in the show. Some nice political statements (like screw the powers that be) and overall a non-stop show. Hands were in the air and everyone was hollerin'. He finished off with midnight in a perfect world and gave his thank you's inbetween bars and then walked off stage and let the last couple minutes of the song play out while the rolled credits for the visuals and lighting.
One of the best shows I've ever been to!
