copy/paste from illustrator or photoshop.. real timesaver compared to quark

there are pluses and minuses with both apps but I've been in the business for only 7 years and I hated using Freehand when it was around and so found illustrator more flexible and easier to use. If you like illustrator, learn InDesign. It's like illustrator with added on type facilities and making pdf's are so much more quicker. InDesign is young but addresses the problems that Quark has.

we switched from quark 4, which didn't have multiple undos, to indesign. didn't know they'd added it in newer versions of quark since i refuse to touch it with a bargepole now.

Switched to indesign in January with my new job. Worried about learning it after living with quark for several years but it's a doddle. If you use illy and photoshop regularly it all makes sense. Had to use Quark last week for the first time in 8 months. HATED IT! WHY DOESN"T IT DO STUFF LIKE INDESIGN DOES!?
So yes, switch and burn your quark.

If you can convice the boss, I'd switch.
Used to work in an agency that only had 2 copies (for 4 users) of Quark 4, PS 6 and Illy 10 all running on OS 9.
Also had to build CSS sites in DW MX.
And that was less than a year ago. So it's still out there.
