My "from last batch made" ibook is the most reliable little machine ive ever had.

Wasn't the Duo2 supposed to come out today?

Anyone know of any crazy financing offers? I only have the $$ for a Macbook, but I really want to hit up a Macbook Pro.

My battery goes to 3 hours and beyond. I love this computer. My first MAC laptop.

Well, I guess since it runs about the same as a G4 then you really arent Losing anything, just not gaining much at all. But other apps do run much faster.
So ya, Wait for the Core 2 Duo at the very least.

Wait for the following.
1. Adobe to Release updates for their programs. Under Rosetta they run about the same speed as on a G4.
2. Wait for the Core 2.
Then you will be fine.

i dont understand it. i have a macbook. 2.0 ghz, 768 MB Ram and I am not having any problems. Sure, the adobe suite is slower than normal, but I knew that when I bought it. The programs still run fast enough for me.
Good laptop.

well ive been umming and ahhing between the macbook and macbook pro for a while now, and i think im goin to go for a macbook--> and definitely waiting til the new ones come out. really hoping this is true about september 25th, that got me excited! i cant justify the expense of a mbp. will get lots of ram put into a macbook though.

it has to be said though that i hate the macbook. The glossy screen, the fat border around the screen are a big turn off. I though it would turn out much more sleeker :/

I personally think the MB's look alot nicer than the MBP's, At least the 'fat border' is even all the way around. The MBP has think sides and fat top border for the isight which in my opinion makes them look tacky. built in isight is a stupid.

The best brand in the world is a company that sells ortophosphoric acid with caffeine and enormous amount of sugar (or toxic aspartam) in it. I find this more amusing.

If it was a fact that buying a Macbook pro meant losing 10 years of your life PEOPLE WOULD STILL BUY THEM
- rafalski0
try apple refurbished store, there are mbp's for $1600 afair

Yeah, hold off until the next wave of MacBooks. No sense buying one that's going to be randomly shutting down.

I am in need for a lappy, but I am also waiting for the core 2 duo.

Can't afford a Macbook Pro sadly.

I'd wait until core 2 duo, they run supposedly cooler.
My macbook introduced me to random shutdown syndrome recently, here's a recap of people's findings:
