here's a tricky one, or perhaps not so tricky for someone cleverer than myself:
client is vexed because when they search their name in google.co.uk, the site comes up top of the pile, all good there.
however, when they search google.com, it still shows an old site.
how do we gleam the google yankee? any ideas? or perhaps a good way of explaining the reason behind this to the client?

and, yes, i know that cleverer is not a word.
*hangs head in shame

more sites = more updates and robots = longer updates?

are they selecting the the 'pages from the uk only' radio button?
Usually the search results are the same, regardless of URL

no, that's just it. it's got me in a bit of a muddle. the results are different just depending on whether you're on .com or .co.uk.

one is from a us perspective and the other a uk... it oculd be as simple as that... i agree though... confoozing

How odd. I have never noticed that there is a difference.
Can you tell us what they search string is, I would like to take a look at it myself.

well, i never expect seo to make any bloody sense anyway, so i'll just ring them up and give them my 'dark arts' spiel.
:D
solved.

what search settings does the client have on the machines that are giving different results?
