except for the fact that is serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever, it merely makes you hold down the space bar, so what? Is it meant to be like some kind of exercise?
- Engage0
it would make sense if there wasn't a huge border around the wohle site that you could put the nav in anyway... or if it was a minimal site
- indian_pole0
i can't believe they used impact.
- ribit0
might make more sense if the slide out bars had seperate links spaced along them that would be useful when out, and then hidden when you wanted to reduce clutter... but as it is, its a tiring way of getting to just a single moving button-on-a-stick?

Urgh at Impact

Well bollocks to ya, i like it.
Its different from the norm, instead of the normal text/image links.

smells like useless navigation from a mile away

This is what I've come to expect from people in hoodies.
Now. Further to the space-bar thing, at what point in life do designers think it's good idea to put pictures of oneself on your website? Indeed, pictures of oneself looking cool, slightly dangerous, mysterious, even a touch pissed-off?

100% meh.

I don't get it. Really.

Flash can accept and analyse audio input, can't it? Someone should come up with a nav system reliant on note/pitch input - C for home, D for About Us, maybe F~ for the contact section.
At the very least, they might be able to use webcams to capture users' facial expressions as they try and achieve the right pitch - a la
For what, I don't know - but it might make for a five minute laugh.
Or maybe this is a pretty shit idea and I should just do some work.

hi sprofile says he likes Jerry Springer and Daytime TV, I'm generously assuming he is being ironic, but this site and the illo on that profile page tell me he may be spending a lot of time at home in the day time.
- moth0
OR nairn, he should make it so you have to hold down 'apple', 'shift', 'x', '1' and 'p', which would mean not only do you have to be using a mac, but also slightly um, er, mental, to produce the necessary hand contortions AND be able to headbutt the mouse.
- Nairn0
OR make it like those 80s sports games (Olympics and Daley Thompson?) with some avatar at the bottom and you have to manically alternate hitting the shift keys, then bash Return to 'jump' into the relevant section.
But if we can get a webcam to provide visual feedback - I'd go with your idea, moth.
- moth0
alternate hitting the shift keys?
I haven't done that since I got a got a joystick!
- blaw0
nothing like making me use two hands to navigate your site, 'eh?
- st33d0
Should be like twister. An arrow spins round and they have to put a left digit on "p". Faliure to do so results in your browser being uninstalled.

I had a unique response to that unique navigation. I closed the browser and I got up got a cup of coffee.
