hey people! I need to import a vector into photoshop - it's saved as an EPS, but when I try to open it, PS automatically rasterizes it. What can I do?

copy and paste it into Photoshop from illustrator. It will ask you if you want to paste as pixels or path.

okay I'll try - but I'm trying to export as an EPS - there's a box which asks if I want to preserve paths, but it's greyed out....any ideas?

I can't believe there's no way of exporting paths from illustrator...

Unfortunateky its functionality they have removed from photoshop, I remember older version would let you paste paths from illustrator, but now its bitmaps ONLY...
unless someone knows how to do it another way.

in Freehand you can go 'edit>special>copy special>eps'
and then just paste into PS, you used to be able to simple copy but now it says there is a problem parsin.

You need to change the Files & Clipboard preferences in Illustrator to AICB.
Edit > Preferences > Files & Clipboard
