anyone know the workaround when an FTP site won't allow my uploads.. "permission denied" using Transmit and/ or Safari. i'm pretty sure its a problem on my end, not the FTP side.
i thought it was something to do with using passive mode, but on/ off doesn't help?

on 'their server' side in transmit, click on the directory you are trying to upload to
next right click, and hit 'get info'
after that you should see permissions window at the bottom of the window that comes up, use either 755 or 777 or just click whatever check boxes you need.
that should fixe ur problemo

are you trying to over write images that were uploaded through a cms... if you need to get around that you should elete the exisiting ones and then upload your new ones

Their server might be full. Seems like it's on their end I believe.

not trying to write over anything.
just been given a vendors FTP site to upload a job... they're a big company so surprised it would be a permissions problem on their side.
only problem is i have no access to directory list, just a dropbox so can't get info.. so i guess its something that can only be fixed from their end?
either way good to know i can change permissions via Transmit.. didn't know this.
thx.

also, you may want to try to connect via terminal.
if push comes to shove, you can always use the command line

If you can't see their directory, it might be a lon in issue. Sometimes you have to fiddle with the ftp address like type in
or
and make sure you copy the password exactly (upper and lowercase)
