quick questions.
can i reinstall my OS without losing my shit? what's that called?
also, OS X 10.3.9, wtf feline is that version? panther, jaguar??
and is there a way to get rid of a program that autostarts? I have that iScrobbler thing, and it just makes the rainbow wheel thing. but I can't delete it because it's already "open" and I can't make it not open on start up, because when i go to sys. pref.> accounts it also goes to the spinning wheel. safari hangs up too. BLAST!!
thanks in advance.

1- its called archive and install. not recommended especially if you are having problems with your HD and/or OS.
2- you can delete it by going to sys prefs->accounts->login items. select the item and hit the "-" icon.

to put another way, is there a way other than through sys.pref. > accounts to make something not load on start up?
will a safe mode still load those startup programs?

Archive install is perfect if you are having problems with your OS, it replaces your current system with a new version and keeps all your settings/apps.. never had any issues using it.. on the few occasions I tried it. HD issues can be solved by booting off the system CD and using the disk utility repair.
