too old and too young for a partner – man/woman, boy/girl for you.
I had a man chat with a friend of mine who's dating an eighteen year old (my buddy's 29) I also found out an ex-girlfriend from high school married a guy twenty years her senior and is basking in barbados sunshine. How young and how old would your partner be given the choice?

I get more freaked out about my friends going out with younger people than older people.
I guy I know went out with a 16 year old when he was 21 which was a bit weird.
I much prefer older women, I'd say my older limit would be mid 30s though (I'm 24), lower limit probably 21.
I suppose it depends on the person, some 20 year olds are more mature and intelligent than people twice their age.

my stepfather was 17 years older than my mother. they were great together. married each other later in life though.
my wife is one year older than me but looks 10 years younger.

It's more about maturity than age, although at 38 I would find it difficult to seriously date anyone younger than 25 without feeling I was somehow taking advantage of them. You just tend to know more shit about human nature the older you get. And my wife would probably kill me...

if someone's going to marry someone 'much younger' than them... that 'much younger' person should still be at least 28-30 in age in order for the 'deal' to hold...
... sorry... but anyone under the age of 27-30 is rather selfish (in our given society) and shouldn't be married... people who get married later in life (after they've had a chance to experience life... and I'm not talking about people living together before marriage (that's another discussion))... statistically... those marriages have a better chance of lasting.
My dad married someone who's barely 10 years older than me (she's 7 years my father's eldest son)... but she's also 40, my father is 59...
that's 19 years (and is A HUGE DIFFERENCE if the younger of the two is still mentally/socially a 'baby')... but given the fact that she's 40 - it works out fine as she's experienced plenty of life outside of her '20's' lifestyle.

Although, really, to be quite sincere and honest, if I live to be an old fart of 50 and a 16 year old wants to hook up with me I'd just have to grin and bare it and be really charming to her dad.

wtf? I'm married!!! My wife's 27 and I'm 29! I played the field for a good 10 years and have no regrets (other than not sleeping with Tatiana, a dangerous-looking hot foxy russian girl). Me selfish? I'm just a player on sabbatical. (don't let my wife hear this)/
