static vs. dynamic

so i have this little graphic design assignment.
1) show static compostion.
2) show dynamic compostion.
the trick is, we have a 25cm white frame of reference. 3 black 5cm squares to work with. all my ideas to show dynamic compostion have been shot down. very interesting indeed.

to be perfectly honest I am asking myself "why?" - I mean to the whole project, what is the fucking point of it all, what's in it for you? How is this going to change your life? What is the point?

put the squares (rotated by 45 degrees) in some half circular array, or something..

its a very interesting assignment, but the assignments later on will more complex. i assume the point of the assignment is to train our eyes to see static and dynamic compostions...
