I'm redoing a website I've previously built and I'm having a problem in IE6. The column named Block A is getting an extra 20px in the left margin. Works just fine in Firefox. Can anyone tell me why?

I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks.

um, you have a 20px margin to the left for that div

But in IE6 I am getting an EXTRA 20px - hence I should say it has a 40px margin on the left.

brilliant. Thank you for the resource.

it looks like the openstatement div is making a padding of 20px for the content div, therefore adding 20px to the sides, in IE.

that would be it. I used the display: inline; element which worked the same as removing the 20px left margin and using padding instead.

actually, only the display: inline; element worked.

its a bug in IE.
if you have a margin in the direction of the float, IE doubles it. and like was mentioned, adding display: inline; solves it.

sometimes I wonder the total cost in dollars from billable hours spent making an already-functional website work in IE. like ever hour spent by every designer, ever.
