But I have to ask for help on satan's app itself... yes MS Word.
I need to create a letterhead template for a client that they have type onto and print themselves (aside from their proper printed letterhead).
All I want to do is insert their logo and addres info at the top of a word doc and then save it as a template with all the elements locked down so they can't move or resize them. Then they can add their letter content to it.
Could someone tell me how to lock it all down?
I've looked on google but there's just a lot of crap out there to sift through!
thanks.

Look for headers and footers, and about setting up templates in Word's help files..

View - Header and Footer.
What we do is insert that stuff into the header. They'll still be able to edit it, but not with jumping through hoops.

isn't it true that you can lock your MS Word file with a password?
not sure using normal files, but i did that when creating a form.
if i remember it correctly you can find that option under
Tools > Protect Document or something.

thanks for the info on headers and footers, I've managed to do it now and with bit of tweaking, it doesn't look all that bad.
Oh dear, I don't want this to be my job!
