I just had a client say "I like the typeface you used, but it's a little blocky. Can we get something a little more cuneiform?"
"Cuneiform? Cuneiform? Like what? The Phoenicians used?"
"Yeah..you know..something bland, but deadly looking.."
< sigh >

tha's fucken poetry, that is.
- monkeyshine0
the upside: you have a client who actually knows the word Cuneiform.
- kelpie0
a little knowledge can be a very bad thing

Actual quote from the email:
"the typeface for the name of the site ought to
less blocky and imposing and more, um, bland and courteous, if not
deadly. Something approaching cuneiform but more legible. Does that
help?"Classic.

your reply:
"no"

Can anyone recommend a bland courteous deadly typeface?

Papyrus

I'll forget you suggested that..I might as well use Comic Sans I suppose. Deadly.

hahahahaha
- TheBlueOne0
I keep trying to balance bland and deadly and my brain shortcircuits..I keep imagining someone smothering someone with a loaf of Wonder bread..and to find the typographical equivalent of that...wow..the mind boggles...

I think you should go for something that is subtle yet outrageous.
Maybe a Serif typeface but without the curly bits on it.
Does that help?
