Whats some good music software for a Mac? is Reason still the benchmark? Or is there some more basic stuff like fruityloops available?

what exactly are you looking for? Reason is smokin, but it is not a good piece of engineering software. if you are looking to get software, like all the software you need without breaking the bank, look at protools. i think they sell it bundled with Reason, and a bunch of other goodies like Amplitube etc...... Really nice. And they even throw in a USB (oh well) interface to bring in mic's or guitars etc..... Really good bundle.

Abelton Live is "kind-of" like FLoops. Live is more of a sequencer.

you so crazy, boy so crazy. er or girl.I've used Abeton Live for for three years and love it. It's a sequencer and live mixing software. Sequencer is excellent and way more intuitive than the big boys. i create beats moslty in Reason and record into Live for Sequencing.
