  Say I did a drawing for a magazine, and I'm not being paid for the job but it's good for exposure. Can I show the drawing on my site before the magazine is released? Same question but for a propper job?
  There are no contracts involved for either - more verbal agreements...what is the moraly correct thing to do though, not publish the pic until they have?

  yeah, I guess for the propper job one, but for the unpaid can you do a page in our mag thing? You're probably right on both counts though.
