I might sound selfish but...
Saturday was my b-day, and I always liked to celebrate my b-day. I woke up and, like we always did for anybody in my family, wife and kids, I was kinda expecting a little something. A card, a gift, a real "Happy Birthday!", instead I got nothing. I mean nothing. And I'm very disappointed. I work my ass off for them, and supply everything a husband and father is supposed to provide for his family.
As far as I know you have to do something for somebody's b-day, even if it's little. Especially if it's your family!
It's the thought that counts.
Sorry for venting, but I had to do it, cause I haven't done it at home yet!

happy birthday man, that's shit, but isn't that just the cold hard facts of being a dad eventually? nobody gives a shit, we certainly didn't for our dad!
*realises he's a bad son.
*remembers all the IOU notes his dad used to give him for his birthday, and the amount of times he forgot my name and used the dogs instead and feels better

happy birthday dude..
as a husband and father myself, i know what you're talking about...and it does suck..
but.
at this point, you have to sort of accept that its no longer 'about us' ...
its about the kids and their birthdays...making them awesome and memorable and fun and stuff like that...
i haven't had what i'd consider a 'fantastic, awesome' birthday in years (the last and best being my 30th, wich was incredible)...since then, they've more or less sucked or been nonexistant..
and thats ok...
its like how christmas is so wicked amazing when you're a kid...but as you get older its less and less so....
until you suddenly have kids of your own...and can see the way their eyes light up...
then it becomes magic again...but for them....
anyhow, thats just how i see it...
i miss having a really kick ass birthday..
but then again..i also miss waking up on saturday morning and eating a bowl of cereal and watching the Smurfs..
all good things must pass
:)
cheers dude..happy birthday!

I'm not good with birthdays =(

i dunno ex, i fink he should file for divorce. Any judge would grant him custody of the kids considering the circumstances.

Exador1. I agree with you 100%.
Once you have your own family it's never about ourselves anymore.

KuzII. That's a little extreme! But if it happens again....
