Missing fonts? Corrupt font?
- ian0
Aye, tried quitting suitcase and all other programmes and nothing.
Tried it on another machine, nothing.
Tried logging out of ny accout and setting up a new account (as suggested on the adobe site), nothing.
The file is 17 megs but I've worked on ones that were much bigger before and never had this trouble.
A couple of weeks ago I lost a days work when flash crashed on me and wiped a .fla file but it was suggested that it was because I was working from a server, so this time I was working from my desktop...
I think in about 10 mins I'll be officially freaking out!

re-install flash as a last resort.
you could also try running flash as the only prog on yr OS - 17 megs is quite large
- ian0
Yeah undo, I tried running it as the only prog. and didnt do much.
Doin a little loop for a plasma screen, with some images and graphics but the actual swf file is on 560 kbs.
Ive done huge stuff before and never had a problem...

Find a pc/win to open&resave?
- UndoUndo0
are all the assets external? Maybe one of them has a problem/has become corrupt?
or you could try on a different machine as rafalski said
- ian0
I wish I could rafalski, we have one pc in the studio and its the accounts managers, the thing is about 8 yrs old and full of crap. Not sure if I could even install Flash 8 on it!
ok, Im officially freaking out, but in a relaxed way, until the boss finds out, then I propery freak!

I have actually had this problem before. When working on an FLA on a server, if your machine (or flash or the server crashes then the file becomes corrupted.
Now, this might not have happened in your case but I have had something similar happen.

Yeah check any network connections...
- ian0
All images etc are embedded into the file, there's no code in it (not even a stop action) or variables. Its just straight up animation. But its two days work and was on its way to being done!

Not even hooked up to the serer and working from my desktop and it still crashes worse than a David Caruso film.
Dammit!

Ive restarted, dumped preferences, renamed file, started up with only flash running, from desktop, from server, on another mac, under a different account. Still nothing.
Im buggered aren't I?
Apple aint got any troubleshooting advice on this and none of the adobe stuff worked. Sometimes I really, really hate technology.
- pascii0
put it on a server and i'll try for you!
- rafalski0
Can't do that here at work, but if you don't get a chance to try opening in a windows flash till the evening, email me a link to fla+assets package. I'll see what I can do..
- moth0
As pascii said - put it up on the web somewhere and post the link.
Someone here might be able to get it open and re-save it.
- ian0
Cheers folks, Im putting it up at the mo and I will post link when its up.
