Google didn't steal their name from anyone - they reappropriated 'Googol' - fair enough, no?

Google have no choice.. Under trademark law it doesnt matter if they succeed in preventing dilution of the trademark, just that they can show they tried to prevent it... this affects their legal position in future disputes.

You don't even have to say anything. You just walk over to a steaming hot iron, pick it up, walk on over, and just punch them in the face with it.
