Saw a cheap, £25, on in maplin electronics the other day, was tempted as I've never tried working with one, but shouldn't think it was that great for that price.

ebay - theres a few on there

whatever you have to pay, pay it and get one. If you're still designing with a mouse you may as well grab the face of a shovel and a lump of coal and get down Abe Lincolon style.

I have a wacom tablet... don't really like it. I can draw with the mouse a lot better it seems. I think they are semi over rated too. There are tons of people who don't use wacom tablets but still pull off illustration like woahhh... ask justin fines... http://www.demo-design.com
plus they are kinda SPENsiVE...

Def check out ebay. Bought mine from there maybe.... 2 years ago. It's a smaller tablet but it works great for what I need.
Cheap too.
Also, try places like Fry Electronics (their site) and Comp USA. Or, google it to see if some discount store comes up.
You really don't need a $1500 tablet. IMO. Great to have but it's more bragging rights.

WACOM+PHOTOSHOP=GOODNESS
WACOM+ILLUSTRATOR=ehhh...
sometimes the stylus can be tricky in illustrator because brush behavior in illustrator is nothing like actual drawing/sketching... the brushes in photoshop are much more dynamic and intuitive especially with a wacom.
just my two cents...

I have an A5 Wacom Graphire 2 with mouse, pen, drivers and PS Elements(Woo!) - its hardly used with the box. There is a slight bit of wear on the overlay which can be replaced for $(£4.50) - you want to make me an offer?
