I have to put a real, not digital, portfolio together. Two things, can anyone recommend a good supplier of all things portfolio? What does everyone recommend, an archival type box with loose work in sleeves or a ring bound folio to flick through - and why!
All advice is good advice at this stage, muchos gracias, merci beaucoup or something.

I use an archive box with loose acetate sleeves, it looks much more better than shitty ring bound imo - and I find it easier to present. I got it all from cowling and wilcox on broadwick street but maybe you're not in london

yeah looks much better, tho a pain in the arse to carry on public transport.

Yeah, I'm thinking the box ones are better looking etc. Why are they a pain to carry though - they don't have to be flat do they? And can't you get some kind of strapped bag to carry the box in?

yeah, i guess u could get a good strapped bag thingee (if u can get one right size). problem solved.
- rasko40
they're not that hard to carry, and you can get strap handle things for them apparently

acetate vs poly slips for work. Discuss.
- rasko40
acetate obviously

or you could tattoo a select few pieces of work onto your ass, then strip off in the interview. WOW, if that dont get you the job nuffink will.

you could spend an arm and a leg and get a big A1 poster of your stuff printed, then take that around and unfold it and fold it back up time and time again, not sure how original that idea is though.

Nice tattoo idea. Polyester sleves are meant to be good, why acetate obviously - why are poly more expensive than acetate? so many questions.
- rasko40
maybe I'm confused, aren't these poly sleeves the same stuff those crappy daler ring bound sleeves made from?
- indian_pole0
polyester sleeves are thicker and more textured. acetate is smoother and shows the work better.
- Atkinson0
hmm, maybe I could just screw all my work up into balls and give it them in a box to add to the excitement?
- Atkinson0
no i think the poly ones are museum archival standard and are diamond clear and lay flatter than acetate, they cling to the work so really you don't know they're there - that's what I'm told, sound like durex or something.

yeah, and put a hamster in there for good measure. or a guinea pig, use your creative discretion.

this has divulged into a conversation that can only be described as 'weird'.
