This is doing my nut, - Maybe you dudes can help?
I want to make a movie using bitmap pics, flash animations, vector shapes & text - I then want to give the client a DVD Disc that they can put in their dvd player / computer and it plays nice and smooth and keeps it's ratio whether it's on a widescreen or normal telebox.
What software do I need to do this?

probably director,

but how do I actually create my dvd?
I can export a mov and a projector from director......... but then what?
(sorry for being thick if this is really obvious)

you can build the lot in dvd studio pro - http://www.apple.com/finalcutstu…

I've been toying in after effects & director -
director seems ok, but moving bitmaps around the screen is jerky like flash.
and neither offer any solutions to actually creating the dvd -
Out of the 3 then Final Cut would be the better investment for creating dvds?
Shame I can't get a demo.

If you want it to play on home dvd(tv) and computer, this is what I think you should do:
Create a movie in final cut or after effects with the animations.
Export your flash animations and create videos of them.Dont forget that a dvd for tv is just a bunch of videos with a menu that points to them...
Hope this helps

build your animation in after effects - render out an uncompressed quicktime, convert this into a mpeg2 using final cut, cleaner, QT pro etc. Then build your dvd in dvd studio pro.
hope this helps.
