Dead Imac?

Just switched on my mac and its not starting up, the standby switch is lit up, no display, the big fans kick in after half a minuite...
tried unplugging it with no joy. Mac cant help me, they dont do 24 hour support...... Can any of you guys help?Thanks

yes it is, this is the thing though that fucks me off with mac, you buy a compact unit, and it fails less than a year old, they wont just make it nice and easy and replace it, they'll make you box the bastard up and keep you sitting there for over a month why they replace the logic board.
I really dont want to open up this thing and reset anything, its not practical like a standard PC. Anyone come across this problem, any easy solutions?

have you tried starting up from the CD? hold down C while starting up...

It wont let me insert a cd even... this things fuckin toasted what you think?

i have a older g5 imac and it still runs perfect... but i don't know how that will help you... keep restarting it

nah somthing aint right... tried to many times now... standby light comes on and those turbo fans kick in after half a minuite... cant insert a cd because there dont seem to be active power to drive it in. black screen.. no power.....
