hi guys.
i left my desk for an hour and now i'm back my mac g5 will not make a noise. That is, the audio is not working. Songs are playing but i cant hear anything.
i tried with headphones, with external speakers, and with the built in speaker.Whats happened? Anyone know? Anyone had this problem themselves?
Cheers

do you work in an office or is this at home? because if you're aat an office one of your coworkers may have muted the machine... which is under System Preferences----Sound---- Output Volume
It's a good place to look regardless as some weird mac bug may have occurred and the mute button is enabled.

i've had that happen to me before and a restart worked...I've also muted macs when jackasses turn up their headphones so loud and just leave them on their desk for all to listen.

someone muting your mac is a minor inconvenience... and fully understandable it's like the guy who sits next to you who breathes a bit too loud... eventually you need a break.
now people hopping on your G5 and changing your mouse's tracking speed or altering your wacom setup...moving your p-shop or illustrator palletes...
i get the urge to cut people for shit like that...
i think i need help...
and yes i know p-shop and illy let's you save "workspaces" it still irritates... as do heavy breathers...
