Starting up a business with a friend. He and I are looking for some feedback on our identity. He is italian and I am mexican so we put together part of an italian city name and a mexican city name to come up with our company name.
Materacruz -- pronounced (muh -tear-uh-cruise)
we have come down to two options looking for some feedback, NT always comes through. Initial thoughts or suggestions are welcomed...
Thanks in advance,

i like where it's going. im thinking more detail in the eagle though. and add something to make it italian? right now it reminds me of the mexican flag. maybe more detail (as italians are obsessed with it?) and it looks like you grabbed it from the *.svg file from wikipedia.
dont know how i feel about the border. maybe a more ornate one?
my three cents.

b.... i think

option a.
I think the checkerd pattern on the border of B distracts too much.
The txt looks great!
but maybe a little more detail on the eagle area would be nice. maybe a 3 dimensional effect would work... like a shield, from a low, centered viewpoint.... almost like walking straight up onto a ferrari's hood and seeing its shiny logo.
That would be dope.
All in all.....
Se ve chingon!
....y viva mexico cabrones!!

I like the serious feel your logo has, however your never going to top a name like rodzilla you should call your company rodzilla :D

A.
thoughts ~
i agree with more detial on the eagle.
like the border thickness on the symbol
the type bugs though.
esp. the second line. it looks very standard, and the bar break between the two words is not good. something better could be there.

how important is the Mexican/Italian heritage to what your business is all about?
will your customers care (maybe they will, I don't know)?
maybe the name covers that diversity enough, and you can open up some more options for the icon?
as for what you've got, the simple border has more impact. I'd go way more elaborate/ornate if you're going to play with the border. and the German comment sticks with me - maybe the Eagle needs the cactus and the snake to really say Mexico? and what is there for Italy besides the palette? I might be taking your approach way too literally...

blastov --- good points...these are thing we have taken into consideration...
thats a good point about coming up with an icon...but I think we really like where this is...
Everyone's comments are very much appreciated..

Option A with the "design | limited" type from b. That's what I think.

The border around the eagle thing is a bit chunky. I think it could be half the weight it is now.
