Haha yea, I've always wanted to make my own jump page kind of thing.
I'm a fucking lazy arse.
Nice job of pretty-fying it Narin!

I've been thinking about this a bit recently - are there any useful, recommendable customisable [indefatigable] start pages out there? Along the lines of what my start page, but online? (and better, clearly!)
I know there's all these MSN, Yahoo-esque customisable portals, but I was thinking much simpler and more practical for the likes of us - people who live on the internet.
*cough

Google isn't that bad.
Pretty boss actually.
I have mine customised with tons of shit.
(But I don't start from it, heh.)

(Aug 3 06, 07:46)That's not actually what I have since mine is really cluttered and full of information, but I'm thinking about making it more simple. or just using the cluttered one anyway.

Now give me your code, Nairn.
- Nairn0
er... it is horrifically messy code - an unloved and perennially bodged farce of a page.
However, let me clean out some of the links (to my admin area, UK yellow pages etc) and I'll email it over in a wee while.

(Aug 3 06, 07:44)I use yokeman.com
you can add links into categories and it's really easy to update.
I open up and immediately open all my email/forum/news sites to check what's new.

I sort of don't trust 3rd party ones, because I think they can just grab my passwords and stuff. :X
I saw a pretty dope one awhile back in an Atlas contest Microsoft had - can't find it now though.

Yeah, that's sort of where I was coming from - I would want it to be wholly 'mine', with no risk of url, stats or secure data tracking.
Something where I could save the output to my own HD and run from there.
Hmm.. It really wouldn't be that difficult to do.

I just use a my yahoo page and feed rss into it. I dont care that people know I have rss feeds of newspapers, engadget and sports scores.

Fine, but I have darker interests..

j/k - i was thinking more for web dev - admin stuff like passwords and links to places best kept quiet - never mind banking or other-such personal links - internet logins, etc.
