Creating Flash based animations for eventual display on plasma screens.
Client supplied only this:
4:3 aspect ratio
Screen size - Vertical orientation / 30 inches wide by 40 inches tallWhat pixel dimensions and frame rate should I make my Flash document? Do I need anymore info from the client?
thanks,

you'll have to ask them how they're running it...
off a cd?
off a computer?... and then give them the file accordingly. it'll make your life easier to know that in advance.

Those are odd dimensions for a plasma. 4x3 aspect? I would see if they can dig up the native resolution specs. With a 4x3 aspect I would assume it's not HD so you are most likely dealing with an SD (Standard Definition) resolution of approx. 640x480. Of course if they are orienting the plasma vertically, that 480x640. Problem with flat displays is that there have been some very odd and non-standard native resolutions.

the manual of the plasma screen will have actual pixel dimensions. do you know what brand/model it is?
it's probably one of the following:
Standard EDTV Resolution
853 x 480:
found on 37", 42", 43" & 46"HDTV Resolutions
1024 X 768:
found on 42" & 43"1280 X 768:
found on 50", 61", & 63"1365 X 768:
found on 50", 61", & 63"

Hey Version4,
Most of those resolution dimensions are for 16x9 aspect.
The one is question is 4x3 and I have rarely seen a 4x3 ED or HD screen. I am guessing there are commercial models made specifically for display purposes. Some specs for those fall outside the norm we see in the consumer market.
Just my 2 (more) cents.

thanks all. I don't want to lead myself in the wrong direction but I made a 30 by 40 inch square in Illustrator. Converted my doc settings to pixels and then reduced it by 50% and then by 50% again.
It resulted in a 720 by 540 pixel size. Native resolution of 4:3 ratio if I'm not mistaken.
but it would be good to get actual rez specs from the client.
thanks
