I just purchased this typeface for a project, and I gotta say I really do like it...

avenir called and said:
"been there, done that,... "

yeah, similar to avenir, but it looks nicer on the page..a little more modern for lack of a better word..

helvetica & univers had a one-night stand in Manchester, UK during the summertime. This is their warmer and sexier lovechild.

Nice, gramme. This really has nothing to do with Avenir. It's a fresh taste on a grotesque, not a geometric.

yeah i agree, the only similarity between this and avenir is that they are both sans serif. totally different vibes.

I was trying to find a modern sans serif for a magazine project, something modern but not overdone (Din, Helvetica)..it came down to Locator, akkurat and Galaxie Polaris and I went with Galaxie...now I just need to team it up with a nice slab serif...suggestions?

i like it - you can email it to me.

for a slab, perhaps something Egyptian:

Or with a higher x-height more inline with a gothic (even though the ascenders and descenders ar long):

Depends on your magazine flavor and its audience. Tell me more. Maybe FF Olsen:

Thanks for the input Typo - it's a cultural/lifestyle mag - young, athletic, intelligent audience. Need a face that is both roots in something traditional, but also modern feeling, and one with a bit of "authority" to it...I was thinking Memphis...
- Typographica0
In that genre I think Serifa or Glypha would be a better fit for Galaxie. Memphis is too rigid.

how about PMN Caecilia, nice on legibility, good on weight divisions:

Thanks for the ideas guys!

not to keep agreeing with typographica, but i second the glypha suggestion

Looks like typographica's got it covered, but as another option; Calvert, could look good with polaris...(agreed great typeface)
