why do you have to try an rationalize what you see in the movies, plus id much rather see stop frame corugated cardboard cars, than wack ass, trying too hard to look real, special effects

ok so visually it looks amazing but geezus french men are soooo wet! aaaargh the end tagline "in dreams emotions are overwhelming" with little starburst audio sprinkles made me vomit. am i harsh?

As much as like gondry's creativity I don't think that he's incredibly more imaginative than many others. Dreams have been captured in film before. Look at hitchcock's North by Northwest with the dream sequence that Dali consulted on.
I'm a bit tired of the whole gondry/kauffman self-referential film-within-a-film, look how crazy we are stuff. I don't find it that mind bending or anything. The best part of gondry's films for me is the subtle use of effects.
Don't get me wrong I really like films like adaptation and sushine of a spotless mind but I'd like them to get over the gimmicks of playing with the narrative timeline etc and I'd like to see a film that's more content based.
