ok, i'm getting paranoid. can someone hack into your network?

you familiar with Apple remote desktop (ARD)? We've used that here at work to play quite a frew pranks...

secure your network: use mac address filtering, turn off dhcp and used fixed IPs, turn off ssid broadcast on your wirless router, paswd protect and encrypt wireless traffic, get a better firewall.

i clicked on the "network" icon in the finder window and in addition to the "server" and "library" there are 3 other network names.
i don't have file sharing enabled. but i don't think my airport wireless network is encripted.

you can see other networks without being open to them...
