Has anyone ever designed/developed something for cellphones/pdas? i have a client that's interested in doing something for wireless devices and I wanted to read up on the subject. Any recommnedations on useful resources online?
Thanks.

My personal view is that WAP is dead. While connection speeds were crap, it had some place. Mobile Devices are only going to get better, and most are capable of reading proper XHTML.
We're starting to develop websites with seperate CSS for handhelds, and dont even consider WAP as worth doing.

Really work out if your audience will use it.
I made a mobile version for one of my websites and it barely gets used because it's over our user base's head.
and also work out what devices it will want to work on. I limited the site to newer devices for things to work otherwise there would be too many limitations on various parts of the website making it practically useless to older devices.
Thats my view on it from experience.

Your best bet would be to buy a Windows Mobile and use it.
Keep it text based, nothing fancy. If your website is coded well, it's dead easy to create the other CSS and hide all the clutter.
