Just kick down the $8-$10 a month for hosting! Why is this always such a big deal? Even students should be able to afford that crap-niatch.
Hold off 1 day a week on the fucking mocha latte frappachinos if you must, or quit buying such expensive courier bags.

Dreamhost has tons of space and bandwidth, if those are some of your primary concerns.
I've also used Media Temple and they seem good.
So...just check out the features and choose a company based on that.

i havent had many problems with dreamhost. i had some mysql issues once or twice but that's been solid for a good 9 months now.
dreamhost used to have $9 for your first year with promo code '777', then they stopped it (last year), and THEN they brought it back again. give it a try and see if it works!
just plop down a few bucks and if you aren't happy, then switch to mt. but i think most people just use mt because every other designer uses mt.

just go for (mt)! i took some time adjusting to how their services work, but i've been happy, and relatively problem free ever since.
i'm really looking forward to the upgrades that are coming up as well - the AJAX based webamail seems promising.

I made the switch to media temple around three weeks ago, simple and easy to understand what to do with regards to email transfer and etc. etc. however since doing this allot of people who email me say that it is boinced back to them yet I recieve it anyway?. perhaps this has something to do with me still having around two or three months left on my last hosting folk.
