Any tips on photographing people to be turned into vector silhouettes?
Any tips on vectorizing them without tracing them all by hand?
We have about a hundred to do and want to make sure we set up the shots the best we can for this.

backlight?

Cool - was planning on backlighting them.
How about vectorizing them after,? I know of Illustrators autotrace and Adobe Streamline... any other tricks/tools?

Use the Flash trace bitmap. It has decent controls, but I don't think it can be batched though...

Trace Bitmap seems to work well - Thanks.

when shooting - high contrast ie. white background, backlighting
before vectorizing... convert to b&w, bump up contrast, adjust threshold
when vectorizing... start with live trace, clean up any wayward paths
hth!

Live Trace looks like it's the way to go - thanks all - the help is appreciated.

Extract filter in PS can be a good place to start too. then vectorize from there.

you can also convert your selection in ps to a path and export path to illy. if it is hires it will work well.

i'll assume that equals about a 3 on the 1-10 funny scale
