Students dont pay Council Tax.
Get yourself a student girlfriend/boyfriend and move in with her/him or move in together and get the students name on the lease. sorted ;)

I own a house but it's a vuilding site and I am not going to move in for the next 3 months. There is no running water, no bathroom, no kitchen and it's barely water tight I still pay council tax though.
Don't ever get me started on inheritance tax, 40%!!!!!! Everyone thinks it is wrong but the government get so much every year from this they can't abolish it

(Jul 13 06, 03:59)Why? Council tax isn't doesnt have anything to do whether you own the the property or not. It's for emergency services and refuse disposal.
If you don't occupuy it you shouldn't have to pay tax on it! The chances are you are already paying tax for the address you DO live at!

I'm not... just have witnessed towns that have shops closing down coz no one lives there anymore except for the odd weekend... when they come into town laden with their shopping from Waitrose.
