does anyone here that works with InDesign tables know how the F to put a series of photos in them and have the table fit the document size?
e.g. you make a table, say 4 rows by 3 columns. you figure out the dimensions of each cell. you create images to fit each cell. you go to place the images in the cells and they are all strewed about -
what gives?
sorry for this but i have deadline in the next few days and there doesn't seem to be an answer in:
- any of the forums
- Google groups
- InDesgin help menuthank you SO much in advance.

Paste into doesn't work either??

According to the book, if you have the cells set at a fixed height, it's going to either extend out of the cell or not position itself centered.

I have not, actually, seen that link to InDesign tables. It's awesome - thank you!! But there doesn't seem to be anything listed under 'fixed height.'
Mayo - how do I set the tables to a non fixed height?
Thank you, everyone, for your help. It's MUCH appreciated.
Here's a link to what's actually going on:

select the cell and then Table>Cell Options>Rows & Columns. Make sure Row Height is "at least." is what the book says, but I could have sworn i saw another dialog box that showed a check box for "fixed width" and "fixed height."

plus, you know you can move the cell lines individually, right? use the type tool to do it.

I gave up yesterday working in
ID and went back to Quark
'cause I couldn't figure tables out fast enough. Lucky, the agency has no set date to go totally InDesign.I'm sure its easy (once we know how) ha

aliceblue, i used to be very devoted to Quark, but InDesign blows it out of the water easily. You'll see when you give it more time.
Good luck stringbean. let us know if you figure it out.

thanks mayo. i did know that about the text / adjust tool. i just cringe at doing that for all of the tables.
(sigh).
anyway i'm glad i made the switch to InDesign - it's so much easier to use and has way more features.
thanks again, for all the help.
