Close. I was thinking that his audience knows how to take a joke and has a sense of humor.
Good guess though.

the difference is you are no steven colbert?
what did I win?

Anyone just watch the Colbert report?
He said (something like this) "... a tip of the hat to you 11 feet of snow in Northern New York. You made it difficult for anyone to believe in Global Warming when there's 11 feet of snow on the ground and people are using snowblowers on their roof... yada yada."
It was pretty funny.
Oh... wait...
While I believe Global Warming is real, I find it real hard to yell "GLOBAL WARMING" from my soapbox to the masses while the entire U.S. sans Southern Florida is freezing.
Texas and Oklahoma covered in a sheet of ice and a blizzard North of LA and we're here arguing about global warming while a giant winter fuckstorm spearheaded by Jack Frost has blindsided the U.S. and given us a huge frozen wet willy.

^ I meant "Tim Ball" up there.
- M0NEYCIDE0
those guys are a similar group as ball...they're all former profs turned 'consultants', industry engineers, profs with industry connects if you did a little research under their titles at the bottom of the page you'd see
The Free-Market Think Tank

('industrial' is in italics)
why on earth is this appeal in the finacial post aswell? their largest concern is in stalling, dismantling kyoto, a serious attempt at curbing emissions from huge industry polluters and continuing to try and deligitamize the UN
- Mimio0
Right off the bat Flagellum I can see Tim Bell in there...again. There's also a couple of AEI members there as well as the good old Fred Singer. I suggest you look into his credentials yourself, it's a real treat. He's totally in the pocket of ExxonMobil and anyone else with a checkbook.

Whose pockets are these guys in?

just curious because I get red flags on these issues where the argument-from-authority is invoked with seemingly reckless abandon.
- M0NEYCIDE0
you mean in the pocket of hugo chavez, the house of saud, vladimir putin and that cat with the mad b.o. from iran.

- M0NEYCIDE0
and by "american people" i mean the us senate
- M0NEYCIDE0
the uS senate is a private interest group as far as I'm concerned
“The American people are fed up with the media for promoting the idea that former Vice President Al Gore represents the scientific “consensus” that SUV’s and the modern American way of life have somehow created a 'climate emergency' that only United Nations bureaucrats and wealthy Hollywood liberals can solve,” Senator Inhofe said in October.
the american people clearly despise a broader inclusive cooperative society, one that likely knows better. they hate the un, europe, hollywood, liberals, electric autos that some how disappeared off the market 10 years ago to be relplaced with hummers...responsibility
