in the uk, is it normal to charge clients for travel expenses? a couple of days ago I had to meet a client outside of London, took the train to get there, taxi from the station to their offices, etc. It was a lot of money, does that normally get billed back to the client? Thanks.

Yes, of course mate – depending on how much you're making from the job etc. Some clients like to see transparent expenses, but if not, MARK UP!

yep... don't be stingy though - just cover the costs - don't mark up what you paid... that's a dickhole greedy move, and they'll respect you for NOT doing it. :)

should usually put it into your costing... obviosuly a bit different if you're having to travel a fair bit (or more than initially considered)
