Just wondering how people work on a BIGGER project with motion graphics?
Do you do 10 second timelines/effects to save with renders...then merge things together?
Do you work one timeline all the way through?Anything you do to keep things organized?
Please enlighten me...

ask Tank. Our favorite belgian motion graphics expert. perhaps bump this thread tomorrow again.

the question is very broad, be more specific...there are various ways to do this....

sort that dual monitor thing out, when in ae i have one monitor for preview and tools, the other is timeline only
i do the entire project in sequence so it can be pre rendered and previewed before the final output for the dvd files
takes hours
using oject linking will help you sort your effects actions and such
i will agree, total pain in the ass

Thanks guys!
Yeah man I know what you mean... render times are a bitch. I do the two monitor thing myself. The question isn't mean to be specific... just wondering about your approach to a large project... from the workspace setup to rendering techniques to export techniques... Anything you do?

True. Rendering is a bitch, especially when you have editing systems doing all this real time ish.
I do 2 monitors: all work panels and timeline on the left and big ol' canvas on the right.
I like to render comps out to avoid the beachball o' death and big cluttered projects.

Nice version!
haha yeah I do the same setup...Have any of you guys worked with green screen video? Any advice with that?
- version30
got a greenscreen on the wall in my office, lots of light on the subject lots of light on the screen, keys out easily, if your footage is too dark though, it's almost worthless
good greenscreen footage comes from good lighting

yeah i do green screens all the time and i have access to a studio here in miami, its pretty easy. Like V4 said, its definetely all in the lighting.
- JoshClancy0
siiick thanks so much guys! Yeah deff psyched to work with green screen footage. It seems like a blast.
You guys have any plugins worth checking out? I just picked up some trapdcode plugs. Can't wait to play with those.

Also does anyone know that website with the listings of all the noteable motion firms and it was blogger style??
I can't remember it for the life of me!
Thanks :)

motionographer is the new, tween was the old:

i really try to keep my comps organized and slim. with my final comp i try to just have it contain all of my precomps and pre-rendered comps. sometimes though i find it easier just to do on large comp with a whole bunch of layers.
as far as plug-ins, tracpcode's particular is fantastic. the foundry's tinderbox sets are pricy but definitely worth it.

PERFECT! Motionographer is the one ;).
Thanks guys!!!

"Just wondering how people work on a BIGGER project with motion graphics?

any thoughts?
