i'd love to hear feedback on my portfolio -- good, bad or ugly -- from anyone and everyone.

Ah, another one pager!!
You work is good and you obviously know what your doing but I can't help but think that this is meerly a blog, it says nothing about you. I suppose it depends what you want to get out of the site really. I just find at all a little dull.

Simple, clean, I like it.
Just not innovative primarily because it's a one-pager.

hey, thanks for the quick replies! i didn't realize there was an aversion to one-pagers. i definitely don't want it to be "bloggy". i've had this design for over a year and i'm going to redesign soon.
the idea here was to just get the work out there and bam! is this something i should shy away from? if so, why?
do you recommend i add a more personal touch in my new design?
- studderine0
you made the hold steady's website..props to that. your stuff is super clean and it makes me want to shave for some reason...good work.
- Jaline0
No, it looks good the way it is. You have actually added more to it than other one-pagers anyway, so it's good.

I'm old and clicked enough in my lifetime.
I love one pagers. If I don't see something interesting right away, I'm gone.
I hate to wait. And again... Im OLD!!!

love it *thumbs up*

Clicks is for kids.
I love you all. Thanks again for the feedback.
Anyone else want to chime in? Come on, let's talk about ME!!!

I don't have an aversion to one-pagers at all, in fact my (soon to be launched) site only loads one page. I just feel that there is no intro to who your are, what your about and no focus or direction in your project structure.
Need more Heirarchy (sp?)
As I sadi you have a firm grip of web design., far more accomplished than I.

dancer, that's what i was looking for. thanks again for taking the time to respond. so, you think adding more about who i am will help?
what about separating projects by type: print, web, flash?
my natural inclination is to keep things minimal and simple and so that's why things seem sparse. i thought/hoped the news section would sort of round out who i am... but i can see how a quick summary would help as well.
again, everyone here rocks. i've been reading this site for a couple years but only now got up the nerve to post my portfolio. thanks again.

e-pill, that is hilarious. i must be a part of this!
- Dancer0
Yeah that's right.
I know Jaline may have something to say but I would also narrow the amount of projects down say 5/6 per section. I really feel that a website should be a showcase of you and your work – you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket. I prefer to meet people in person and show them my whole book if they are interested.
That's my opinion Anyway.

looks great, effort!! i love the simplicity of it - but - i must echo the general consensus... add some info about you - maybe a contact form?
your work really speaks for itself, but definitely dont over-do it... keep the best of the best and ditch everything else.
keep up the good... umm.... err........ effort? (bad pun intended)

joec, thanks! wow, i'm quite flattered by the response. i know this can be a tough crowd.
great advice from everyone. sounds like i need to:
- scale back on the work
- add some personal info
- maybe ditch the news section?anything else?
