hit print-screen button. it is stored in clipboard. so then just use paste.

erm. press print screen, and its saved to your clipboard so you can paste it straight away - i think

eh, are you sure? Every PC workie like that, mr bill gates made damn sure. Lets try this again:
Step 1 - press print screen
step 2 - open photoshop/ms paint / whateve
step 3 - Ctrl-VStill no joy?

word, prt-screen should work.
are you trying to paste it into psd? sometimes it takes a bit for the clipboard to catch up. try it a couple times. sometimes i have even had to quit psd and repoen it.

it's just a crap testing machine,
i'm trying to paste in Word and email it.. ive done it in the past
i thought it was like control-alt print screen..

yeah, don't paste it into Word. Photoshop would be the best one.

If you have OneNote, you can hit the Windows Button + S, and then you can just clip what you want.
...
If it's just a testing machine I imagine you don't have OneNote but free trial versions exist I believe at Microsoft.
