Hey y'all,
I'm about to buy my first house ever in the centre of Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and the reason I'm going to buy a house that's shitty and need some major work is because I want to style it from top to bottom. Crappy houses are much cheaper and therefor I can create a good budget for rebuilding the place.
I already styled the house of my sister and we turned a medium priced, shitty, dusty 5 bedroom appartement into a lofty, stylish 3 bedroom appartment. The market value almost doubled in the course of a year!
Now that I'm working on my own spot I wanna take it to the next level without creating a place where only I want to live (needs to stay appealing to at least some people). One of the things I'm thinking about is creating a thick yellow fluoricent (see-through) movable wall/sliding door of plexiglass to close off the living from the kitchen. This is just one of the ideas I have. Does any of you ever rebuild & styled their own house?
Let's brainstorm a little - I like over the top creative ideas. Maybe I'll even do a little blog type thing - "from shitty to wow!"

"From ashy to classy" is a bit played out, but it boils down to the same thing really.

Mmawww, when you reach the 14th floor of the Monthevideo building, Rotterdam doesn't look that cool anymore. The skyline only looks cool from the ground up.
It's no LA or NY with a vast view, Rotterdam rocks the spot but is tiny.

true dat. but now you ruined the secret, damnit. i always tell my foreign friend rotterdam is the place and then i bring them there blindfolded until we are at the Weena and then i lay him on the floor and take off the scarf and make him look at ALL those purdy sky scrapesters...

Haha, sorry for ruining the surprise! Nevertheless, Rotterdam stays the number 1 city in the Netherlands. Great architecture, old and new. Great places, great people. No phonies!!
Anyone any creative ideas for the mansion? Would like to know what people put on theit floors these days. I think wood and tiles are so played. Need something really sexy!
