As some of you may remember, I recently posted (and later apologized for) a “farewell to NT” post in which I said goodbye to all of you because of an unspecified mental condition that would require lengthy treatment in a remote mountain retreat. And though that post was a spoof, it actually did contain an element of truth. I have been a bit down lately (as a few of you—well, actually, only Mayo—have recently commented) because of my anxieties about a recently diagnosed autoimmune condition known as Ratner’s Syndrome. While the mechanism of the illness is still largely unknown, what is known is that it affects the optic nerve, and that over a period of months, or possibly even quite suddenly, it causes blindness. The process is irreversible, and incurable. Of course, I’m devastated, not only by my fears of soon being unable to earn a living, but by the thought of never again seeing my wife or daughter’s beautiful faces, and of missing my morning walk up the driveway and looking up at the trees high above me rustling in the wind as I pick up the Times. Which brings me to the reason for this post. I am hoping, before I can no longer log onto NT, that all of you will post pictures of yourselves and things that you love, so that I will have memories of you and of the world I otherwise could never have. Please post them in this thread.

I feel I owe you an explanation.
NT has pretty much gone downhill the last year. Whenever you have a serious question, it gets bullshitted away. I've explained the situation to QBN on several occasions but never heard a peep out of them. Are they too good for me now? The good guys of NT gets striked for a small job post in the PVN - I've hired numerous interns and one full time creative director through the PVN myself. Jesus fucking crist, do you have to make money off every little post?
When the cute little 12 year old boy (bigredmailbox) asked for a crit, you people bashed upon him to a level that made me sick, and you even "LOLed" at it. It almost made me cry. Some of you may very well have destroyed his future career and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
When I started coming here, the PV-AN (as it was called back then) was full of amazing people who made really great stuff, and we discussed stuff that related to the work we did. And we created stuff - remember Methodic? Now, I don't know what goes around in this shithole. Most members don't even have a site to show for themselves.
Some of you know that I haven't been designing for years, but I remained active because of all the great people in here, and because we had really great discussions. Whatever happend to them?
I am not kidding around. I will never, EVER come back. You got my word. I've got to know some of you really well, and I'd hate to lose touch. You know who you are, give me a call / email / IM anytime.
Don't bother responding to this post, I won't read it.

it doesn't happen, you find you niche and run with it, skt and i go in circles, but there is no malice, just repetition, dobs and i can argue in one thread and team up in another

i get some shit, a little help and a lot of laughs, Others here have to feel the same way
getting bent up over pixels is probably a good reason to get away from them

I guess I have to agree with jox o an extent. Even though I didn't see the bigredmailbox incident, I have witnessed other rude acts on here. Hell, maybe I'm guilty of it too, I'm not sure. Either way, it kind of sucks to see jox go. You will be missed, but like tk said, people move on, that's just life.
