No, but I'm very interested to hear an alternative to the Princes Trust.

i've been researching starting a business and a lot of the suggestions i've been finding are to go to the place with a solid business plan outlining what you're going to do, who your target is, etc.
magazines are especially difficult to start. they usually don't profit until after their first year.

a gallery i'm assuming has funding groups out there with their own app. process. private funding i'm sure is a lot more difficult and i'm sure is practically impossible without a little leverage of your own or personal connects.
I've been thinking about how to generate capital for a media/film business, it's a learning curve to say the least and i'm juggling major creative development at the same time. essential to sell people on the prospects of this type of business.

years ago I was gallery director. We fleeced the artists, took 50% because of overhead, etc, line of credit etc, and generally treated them like shit partly because cash was always being applied to marketing the next artist and partly because the artists were not very savvy and not always smart about their own interests. They had the talent and the goods- we had the clients and the money. It was never an equal situation. But you knew that.Criminibus debent hortos.
