It's hard to understand sometimes.

"A suspect turned himself in to police two weeks ago. He has been charged with kidnapping the girls, but denies any involvement in their disappearance."
i would say kidnapping someone could be considered "being involved" with their disappearance.

--------------------on balance. kidnapping and murdering children is way worse.

i don't think so "on balance"
the responsibility of a parent is to prevent stuff like this from happening
partying took priority and look what happened.

exactly skelly.
On a happier note, the girl who went missing in my area about a year back: the police have the killer.
'Racked with guilt, Mr. Davis, a 24-year-old pizza maker, downed a load of magic mushrooms, then stripped naked and rushed out onto Fallowfield Road, screaming in the middle of speeding traffic that he killed Jennifer Teague. He was almost hit by an oncoming car as he repeated several times: "I killed Jennifer Teague."'

(Jun 28 06, 13:24)right on. one of the parents even locked them up in the basement so i read somewhere, while prostituting herself..
some people should think more then twice before bringing kids into this(their) world.

yeah man, parents have a lot of responsibility and many don't take it seriously. Why should they if after death there's nothing and the only reason to live is pleasure? This is how a lot of people sadly think!
I'm sure they are devestated though. My parents love me but when I was 5 I just wandered off thinking they were still with me-they were so afraid for me and happy to find me.
I wouldn't be so quick to blame them. It's the murderers that are fully responsible.

i don't find that too hard to understand. modern life is getting so stupid that you can't really expect a better outcome.
a co-worker of mine is 42 yrs old, talks about teenie sex all day (20% of is day is about porn sites and scrambled cable tv), has an unlicensed beretta, wireless internet around his flat to get passwords and porn in the bathroom; has a degree, a wife, a daughter studying medecine at the Uni, high expectations for his family, greed, etc. He wants it all. He forbids his wife to buy those wonderful australian white onions (they cost 50 cents more) but is able to buy useless cell-phones and satellite decoders for 300 Euro just for his porn.
So he feels he's underpayed, because australian onions are out of his budget. And so he despises all human endeavour; despises his country; despises his friends, despises this world (unless when he's profiting from it) and, most of all, he participates in forums where there's lot of people like him.

I forgot to say that the above is the judiciary profile for a common rapist serial-killer: common people who breaks down.

i can't blame one side only. these parents really did not deserve to have kids. i can not possibly imagine why in the fuck some morons have the guts to have kids!!
