lcd buying fun

I'm interested in buying a TFT LCD. So far I've scoped these:

http://www.samsung.com/Products/…Looks like the first is a widescreen LCD, but has a higher colour contrast, while the second is "normal," and has a lower contrast.
Anybody got any hints for an LCD Shopping Noob? Are LCDs even good for graphic design, or are CRTs ftw?

lcd's are better if you're on your computer for long periods of time. people say that crt's still have better picture but i think that good lcd's are just as good nowadays. samsung is one of the few companies that create their own lcd glass, so it's likely that they keep the better samples and sell the rest to other companies. i recommend going to bensbargains.net and search if they have deals with the samsung lcd you're looking at. and yeah, watch out for dead pixels.
