Anyone know what would be the best way to get music from a minidisc to my computer?
By the way, it's good to be back.

no shit, sony totally failed to market in the states market. then, mp3 players kicked in.
i think a lot of people use it in japan still.

you can get good ones for sound recording - better then carrying around a dat recorder if timecode aint an issue.
not sure whats out there now though.

Actually, I was all about minidiscs from 98 - 2000. I downlooaded all the time from Napster, recorded onto minidiscs and then deleted most of those mp3s from my computer. I had about 100 minidiscs.

I only switched to MD like a year ago for recording mixes, I didn't know what else to do when my double-cassette deck finally died...
My only issue with my MD recorder is that it's all Sony proprietary software, so it takes me about 3 days to implement the 12 step process used to get a fucking file off the thing. And of course it's not compatible with my Mac...

i use this thing for most of my portable recording needs now:

over 6 hours of uncompressed audio on a 4gig card. pop it in a card reader and drag-and-drop the files onto my mac.
